ADVENT SERIES DESCRIPTION:
On those living in the pitch-black darkness of a long forgotten place, where spirits were dimmed and hopes were dashed and the future grew bleak and the world grew weary of itself, a light finally shined.
At first distant and faint, it rose quietly over the people like the dawning of the sun, until deep shadows gave way to sunbursts of light, and weeping gave way to outbursts of joy, and divine absence gave way to glad presence at the sound of a baby’s first cry.
The Christmas story is about a promise fulfilled, an age-old prophecy come to pass. Unto the ancients before us and now unto us and everyone who comes after us, into every pitch-dark place that ever has been and ever will be, a light shines eternally in the form of a child given—a Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace—who calls us to walk in the light and love of God.
Join us this Advent as we wait for the light and welcome the child who meets us where we are and leads us by the way that leads to the kindom of God.

SERMON SERIES DESCRIPTION:
We all harvest from fields we did not scatter seed. We all reap where we did not sow. We all gather from orchards and vineyards where we did not plant.
Someone before us had the vision and foresight to work the land and till the soil and plant the seeds and harvest the fruit. This is the call of every generation and the holy task of every follower of Christ. Just as we inherit abundance from our ancestors, so too do we sow seeds and plant fields for those who come after us to feast abundantly on God’s grace and promise.
As we move into our annual stewardship season, we’ll explore how to cultivate the keenness of insight that makes generosity possible, the audacity of generosity that enlarges our own souls, and the selflessness of generosity that can transform the world for future generations.
